Steel Drop Game Two of Weekend Series

(Chippewa Falls, WI)- The Chippewa Steel continued their three-game series tonight against the Kenai River Brown Bears.

In the first period both teams would get physical and see powerplay time, but neither could convert keeping the score tied at zero heading into the second. Similar to last night the Steel dominated the first period in shots 20-8 and in possession time.

During the second period the Steel offense found their stride creating a lot of opportunities and capitalizing twice. The first goal came at 1:03 when Liam Hansson tucked a rebound past Kenai River goaltender Danny Fraga. Ryder and Heidepriem assisted on the play. Just over a minute later Ethan Heidepriem found himself wide open on the back door when Hansson knocked a puck out of mid-air to him. The short-handed goal courtesy of Heidepriem put the Steel up by two. Kenai River would counter with two goals later in the period to tie the game at two.

The Steel did not lack chances in the third but could not get the puck to bounce their way. Kenai River would score twice in the third and improve their record to 3-0. Chippewa outshot their opponent 45-21 but fell 4-2 in their third matchup vs Kenai River.
