Steel Suffered Loss Against Wings

The Steel suffered a 7-1 loss against the Aberdeen Wings in the second game of the weekend series. The Steel finished the weekend 0-2.

Mitch Machlitt of the Wings got the first goal of the night, assisted by Max Salpeter. The Steel fought back with a power play goal from Dylan Moulton, assisted by Camden Thiesing and Tomas Vochozka.

The 2nd period started out with two 5-minute major penalties for fighting, which gave the Wings momentum for Dalton Weigel to score the first goal of the period. His goal was assisted by Shawn Kennedy. Just two minutes after, Adam Pitters scored for the Wings on a power play goal with an assist from Brad Belisile and Dalton Weigel. Belisile scored two goals of his own shortly after. Nic Sicoly and Johnathan Bendorf both put goals on the board for the Wings late in the 2nd period.

The Steel came out with a strong defense in the 3rd period, not allowing any goals from the Wings.

Connor Close was in goal tonight for the Wings with 21 out of 22 saves. Jackson Bernard was in for the Steel for the 1st period and part of the 2nd and Josh Langford played the rest of the 2nd period and the 3rd. Bernard saved 10 out of 14 shots and Langford saved 11 out of 14 shots.

The Steel are at home Friday, October 26th for Halloween Night presented by Goodwill. Fans are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costumes for a costume contest. Fans can purchase tickets at or by calling the ticket office at 715-861-2131.
