Chippewa Falls, WI – The Chippewa Steel of the NAHL have announced the signing of Tyler Ryder to a  tender contract for 2020-2021 season.  Ryder is a Defenseman from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ryder currently plays for the North Star Christian Academy U18 team. The 6’3 185-pound blueliner played in 55 games last season, recording 19 total points. So far on the 2019-2020 season he has appeared in 31 games with 13 total points.

“We’re excited about the player and the person we’re adding to your organization. Tyler is a steady, reliable defenseman as well as a great young man with leadership ability,” commented Steel Head Coach Carter Foguth.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
