Steel Lose to Pilots 5-1
The Steel lost to the Topeka Pilots 5-1 in Saturday night’s game, finishing the Showcase series with a 1-3 record.
Topeka scored their first 3 goals in the 1st period. The first goal was from David Sudbrink, assisted by Brenden Rons and Quinn Green. Rons then scored a goal of his own with an assist from Sudbrink. The 3rd goal of the 1st period came from Green with an assist from Cole Thiessen and Eric Brown. The only goal in the 2nd period came from the Pilots, Max Finner, assisted by Hugh Quinn and Austin McCarthy.
Early in the 3rd period, Dallas Tulik scored a goal for the Pilots, assisted by McCarthy. The Steel’s only goal of the night came from Jordan Gonzalez, assisted by Grant Reichenbacher and Connor Zillisch at 15:22. In goal for the Steel was Josh Langford who stopped 28 out of 33 saves. Goaltender for the Pilots was Emil Gransoe who had 13 out 14 saves.
